How Many Times Should I Undergo Periodontal Surgery?

After undergoing periodontal surgery, many dental patients ask if they should return to their periodontist. Usually, dental patients are given five to ten days to return to undergo post-surgical treatments. During the post-surgical procedures, the removal of stitches are necessary and clean the surgical area. To evaluate the healing process and review proper oral hygiene procedures, additional follow-up appointments may be required by your periodontist. In most instances, dental patients may not be anymore needing another periodontal surgery procedure in the same area again. Though in some certain cases additional surgical procedure may be necessary. After periodontal surgery, patient should adhere to observe proper oral treatments and oral care to be able to achieve fast healing and reach the goal of the periodontal treatment.
